may 26, 1924 - The Immigration Act of 1924
Description:
Clamped down the number of immigrants allowed yearly by a percentage of 2 per nationality. This new system was the Quote System. This act mainly targetted Southern, Central, and Eastern Europeans. This became a huge setback for mostly all of the immigration to America because, with the exception of 3 countries, the US only issued visas to 2 percent of the combined number per country.
