Description:
Recognising that the BEF were escaping successfully the Germans ordered the Luftwaffe to return to Dunkirk and stop them from escaping hundreds of Stukas and bomber Swardings shot down English fighters and sink English ships. By land German artillery fire upon the perimeters of Dunkirk now being defended largely by french soldiers despite the attacks 62, 429 soldiers are rescued.
