Sometime after Kathy became Ruth's carer, Ruth asks Kathy to go see a boat in a marsh. They eventually agree to bring Tommy along and they all end up going together. That is the first time they have all been together since the cottages and Ruth confessed to Kathy about how Tommy should have been with her this whole time.
