The Treaty of Versailles was the cause of the peace treaties that ended World War I. The Treaty ended the state of war between Germany and the Allied Powers. It was signed by three important politicians: David Lloyd George, Georges Clemenceau and Woodrow Wilson. This was signed exactly five years in Versailles after a Serb nationalist assassinated Archduke Franz Ferdinand, which led to the war occurring.
