Description:
We remember the Treaty of Paris today because it symbolizes the war being over and the colonists winning. It was signed on September 3, 1783 by Benjamin Franklin, John Adams, and John Jay, King George was a representative. There were a few terms that the British had to follow though, the Mississippi river was opened up for navigational purposes, fishing rights were given to the colonists, and some others. The treaty was signed in a place called Hotel d’York and the famous picture of them signing it is above. Without the treaty of Paris America might still be Great Britain.
