In around 1870 almost every single state in the southern part of the United states. The KKK have gone from blacks, then Jews and later on the Catholics. They show their hate by burning crosses and staging rallies. During the Civil right Movement the KKK had a surge too show their hate by setting off bomb in black schools, church and violence against blacks and whites. The thing that really started the KKK was that President Abraham Lincoln made the 14 Amendment that allowed black to have freedom and some hated that law. It started out small now their are about 6,000 to 10,000 members in the KKK. The first appearance of women being apart of the KKK was in the 1920 in Long Island New York. The reason why they burn the cross is because to identifies them as Christians. The main reason why they kill was because they wanted to show their terrorist to Africans Americans and White Republicans. Their was more then one KKK but all of the other KKK collapsed. Their are varied of color of robes which indicate what rank are you in. Their robes show their fear to the people.
