apr 14, 1865 - Lincoln assasinated

Description:

President Lincoln was watching a play in Washington D. C. when shot fatally through the back of his head. His murderer, John Wilkes Booth was shot 12 days later. A guest of Lincoln, Major Henry Rathbone later goes insane, presumably due to failing to stop the assassination.
Further instability arises afterwards, as the reincorporation of the Confederate States is problematic, and regrettably not having been handled by remarkable statesmen, such as Ulysses S Grant, who is controversial due to problems with corruption, although leading for a full 8 years, and having been a great military general during the civil war.
