My family and I watched an Egyptian movie on Netflix. This reminded us of home, which is all thanks to globalization. Prior to globalization, different societies were only familiar with what they were surrounded by. As technology and social media advanced it allowed for cultures and customs to be shared across the globe. Streaming websites play a crucial role in globalization because they feature specific languages, laws, customs, capabilities and habits of the individuals in these groups. This allows for people around the globe watching to adopt these cultures and incorporate it into their daily lives. For example, American influence is primarily due to popular Hollywood films. These films allowed countries around the world to adopt westernized ideas.
