"Rock and Roll" by Wild Billy Moore is released and is excepted as the first song to enter the Rock n' Roll genre. Rock music was derived from a jazz style with a more aggressive sound and less swung timing. Later rock songs such as Steely Dan's "Do it Again" show clear ties to the jazz movement that inspired rock and roll.
