jan 16, 2003 - Was able to understand Italian
Description:
Language Development
When I was younger, around ages 1-3 I was taken care of my Grandmother who speaks only fluent Italian and little English, I was able to speak and comprehend Italian almost fluently. But as I grew up and spending less time with her and not speaking or hearing Italian, i am no longer able to speak Italian or even understand it. This relates to language development because it is said that it is easier for children to learn any language. I believe this theory is very true because it is almost impossible for me to try and learn it now and be able to speak it fluently enough to speak with my grandmother. This is on my timeline because having this experience happen to me allows me to understand this theory better than other people who are not bilingual or have not had the chance to be.
