Description:
invented at IBM by Alan Shugart but wasnt available on the market until 1975 when it went from 8 inches to 5.25 . These cost around $5.95 a piece. A standard floppy could hold around 1.44 MB. Eventually the floppy disk ended up being reduced down to 3 and a half inches in 1981.
