Description:
The Second Continental Congress was the second congress, which was met on May 10th, 1775, as a reaction to the war. It was made to manage the war better and help move the colonists to independence. They offered many treaties, such as the Olive Branch Petition to Britain but they were completely ignored. The congress voted to create the Continental Army and appoint George Washington as the general. This Congress was very influential and helped unite the colonies against Britain.
