nov 1, 284 - Diocletian Rules
Description:
In this event, Diocletian seized power and became emperor of Rome. He decided to split Rome into two halves; an eastern half and a western half. This was supposed to make governing Rome easier, but instead created more conflict between the two halves and made them more vulnerable to invader attacks. This was an important event in Roman history because it was one of the events leading up to the fall of Rome.
