Description:
The Lusitania set sail on May 1st of 1915 from New York, despite several warnings from published newspaper articles. It was originally bound for Liverpool but as it neared Ireland on May 7th, it was torpedoed by a German U-Boat. It was sunk, killing over 1,000 people on board. A later British investigation revealed that the Lusitania was attacked for the purpose to kill civilians, as it had not been carrying explosives.
