- Virginia Colony
- poorer class saw that the colonial gov't favored wealthy (Governor William Berkeley)
- people wanted Berkeley to deal with native americans but he had a secret fur trade deal with them so he did not want to ruin the relations
- Nathaniel Bacon led a rebellion against the colonial gov't to push Native Americans further west
