Ra is created around 1549 BC, and is worshiped as a sun deity. He's viewed as someone who would carry your soul to the underworld, and many temples depict him doing such. Eventually his worshipers die out, and later Egyptians purely study him due to academic interest. This is believed to have happened around 30 BC.
