Geneva Switzerland 1541
John Calvin studied law and philosophy when he was young and in 1541 the Protestants in Geneva asked him to lead their city. Geneva was self-governing and Calvin came in with strict rules that everyone had to obey. Geneva soon became a model city to the rest of Europe and was full of morally right citizens. He ruled Geneva with a theocracy and introduced Calvinism to Europe.
