Description:
Basant was tall, well built man who would carry an axe over his shoulder. He came in contact with Sibu during their work in Jamshedpur district and soon became his right hand. Basant was a well known figure. During this period the baniayas were indulged in looting the illiterate tribals. This came into the notice of Basant who would now visit the villages and would check the ir records and would punish the baniayas. Basant was to later pay for this with his life.
