apr 5, 1764 - The Sugar Act
Description:
The sugar Act was a tax that was issued on April 5, 1764. I was placed on sugars, molasses and other similar items to help repay the debt Britain was suffering from due to The French and Indian war and better enforce the original law of smuggling. If you were caught smuggling, you would be sent away from the colonies to be tried due to bias colonists. Colonists would openly protest against this act because they saw it as a way for the British contorling them.
