may 6, 1763 - Proclamation Line

Description:

This document forbid colonists from settling west of the Appalachian Mountain Range. Parliament set this law in order to avoid any conflict with the Native American Tribes. This was great for the British, but the colonists had just finished fighting a war to settle in these lands. The colonists ignored the act and settled in the lands that they had won. This caused the british to send troops to guard the mountains and get rid of any colonists past the mountains.
