The American Revolution was when the US solidified it´s national identity. It helped them to realize that they could have a strong military presence if they became their own country. That helped them create the first ¨constitution¨ of the US to help them figure out how they wanted to set up their country and they could change it as needed. This lead to the constitution because then they could figure out how they want to run their country and if they want to add anything to make it run smoother. If they hadn´t created this ¨constitution¨ first then they would have had to create a new one eventually because the first idea is not usually the one that ¨wins¨.
