dec 17, 1940 - Lend Lease Agreement

Description:

The U.S. government made a deal with over 30 countries, and dispensed about $50 billion in aid during WWII to their allies. This is when globalization started because the United States played a huge role financially while not affecting the sovereignty of the other states instead turning it into more of a business lender agreement with other countries. The U.S. Department of State stated that thanks to the lend lease agreement the world entered a new economic order after the war ended.

“Lend-Lease and Military Aid to the Allies in the Early Years of World War II.” U.S. Department of State, U.S. Department of State, history.state.gov/milestones/1937-1945/lend-lease. Accessed 5 Sept. 2017.
