Description:
The Bland Allison Act was also referred as the Grand Bland Plan, was an act of the United States Congress requiring the United States Treasury to buy a certain amount of silver and put it into circulation as silver dollars. This was because of a previous 5 year depression following the panic of 1873 which caused cheap money advocates. President Rutherford Hayes vetoed the act, but was overturned by Congress.
