Five days prior, Austria-Hungary demanded Serbia to arrest the Black Hand. The Black Hand was the Serbian terrorist group that told Gavrilo Princip to assassinate Ferdinand. Serbia didn't want to do this so they appealed to Russia for help.
So, Austria-Hungary declared war on Serbia.
