jul 14, 1789 - The French Revolution Begins (Storming of the Bastille)
Description:
Some of the people of Paris were afraid that King Louis XVI was going to use military force to dismiss the Third Estate's National Assembly. Others were scared that foreign troops were going to come and massacre the city. They needed weapons to defend themselves against the possible attack and a mob in search of those stormed the Bastille, a prison in Paris. They gained control of the building, killed the guards and the commander, and paraded their heads around the streets on pikes.
