Description:
A foreign policy that stated that other countries should stay away from the Western Hemisphere because the US already has the area contained/under control. The Monroe Doctrine, besides what the name states, was written by Monroe's Secretary of State, John Quincy Adams. It was the start of a long-term agreement/policy saying that the European's couldn't make any decisions or interference with Latin America.
