Description:
In 1847 Dred Scott went to trail and tried to sue for his freedom. Ten years later his case was finally getting attended too upon the Supreme Court. The court decided that anybody of African American ancestry could never become a U.S citizen, so they couldn't sue in a federal court. So Dred Scott remained a slave. The court cases caused tension that contribuated to the Civil War.
