jun 15, 1767 - Townshend Act
Description:
Some of the goals of the British were obviously to raise money after the war and they did this by increasing the taxes on imported goods. Additionally, these acts allowed officials to search housed for smuggled goods without any warrant from the court. The colonists were naturally enraged because of the recurring taxation without representation along with the increasing power of the officials in the colonies.
