Description:
This was also an attempt by the British to aid in the post war debt relief. They attempted to affect a wide range of people and not affect a specific group too much. They did this by putting a tax on all printed good, so one specific group(expect for almanac printers) weren't affected. This had the opposite effect because it resulted in the engagement of many people who now were exposed to how the colonists were taxed without any representation in parliament and let to more widespread rebellions.
