apr 15, 1764 - Sugar Act
Description:
The original Molasses Act enraged the colonists and parliament was hoping that the passing of the Sugar act would decrease this increase by decreasing the tax. Once again, this was for paying back post-war debt. Boston was among the first to boycott. In specific, the merchants were most affected by this act making them naturally the most enraged. Additionally, the people weren't content with "taxation without representation", a phrase that is a repeated response to various other acts.
