This project aimed to get us out of our comfort zone. After watching a ted talk by Jia Jiang on 100 days of rejection, we were challenged to seek out rejection of our own. It took me a while to think of something that would push me out of the comfort zone. I wanted to interact with someone that I did not know a all, however I wanted to make sure that I would see them after my rejection to make things even more awkward. I chose to ask one of the dining hall workers at Garden Dining Hall if i was allowed to make my own sandwich. The woman told me no, but I did not stop there. From that point I went on to ask the assistant manager, a man named Brian, if I was allowed to. He also said no which prompted me to ask "why not?' he told me that I was not trained to do so and therefore it was not in accordance with the Ohio Department of Health.
For this project I used Google Docs to explain my process, but more importantly to write a poem titled "An Ode to a Sandwich." However my submission was late because I did not catch one of my errors until after the deadline and therefore had to re-submit. This upset me because I felt that I had done good work and I did not wat it to get discredited.
