jul 4, 1775 - Declaration of Independence
Description:
The declaration of independence was signed in Independence Hall, Philadelphia. This is significant because first it contains the ideals or goals of our nation. Second it contains the complaints of the colonists against the British king. Third, it contains the arguments the colonists used to explain why they wanted to be free of British rule. The result was that the colonists had officially declared themselves independent and the United States of America was born. The effect on the war was the huge rallying of support from the colonists to fight against the British for their freedom.
