Cabeza de Vaca explored from 1528-1536. He is originally from Spain. He is known for the accidental shipwreck that happened while looking for gold in Florida. He never found gold but he met the Karwankawa Indians, he was Texas' first explorer, first surgeon, and first historian. He also told tales of the city of gold and led to more exploration.
