United Nations voted to split Palestine into
two states, One Jewish and One Arab.
The Arabs swore to resist the creation of a
Jewish State, even by war.
The partition plan gave the Jews of Palestine
ownership of a small state within the land
of Israel.
Areas with predominantly Arab
populations, were to become part of the Arab
State. Predominantly Jewish areas were to be
to the Jews (as well as Negev).
Jerusalem was to be internationaled.
