mar 3, 1918 - Treaty of Brest-Litovsk

Description:

The peace treaty signed that formally ended Russia’s involvement in WWI, signed in the Polish city of the same name on March 3rd, 1918. This treaty was put in place because the Bolsheviks, led by Vladimir Lenin, overthrew the Russian government in 1917. Wanting the concentration to be on building a communist state, Lenin decided to pull Russia out of the war. Thus, the Treaty of Brest-Litovsk.
