Description:
This law divided England into two parts, the Anglo-Saxon south and the Danish north. This lead to the north of England becoming more heavily influenced by the language of Denmark, however the differences were not so large that the two parts of Britain spoke entirely different languages. Only modified versions of the same basic language - Old English.
Minor changes involved the borrowing of words from the Danish language.
