Description:
Anti-Soviet and anticommunist movements had begun throughout Eastern Europe and it began crack the Warsaw Pact. With the reunification of East Germany and West Germany, they left the Warsaw Pact. Poland and Czechoslovakia also indicated their strong desire to withdraw. With the protest and withdrawing of countries the Soviet Union had no choice but to dissolve the Warsaw Pact. The decisions for dissolving the Warsaw Pact was at a meeting of defence and foreign ministers. The break up of the USSR caused the countries to leave the Pact and join NATO later on.
