Hitler is charged with high treason 2 days after the Putsch and is sentenced to 5 years in Jail, of which he only serves 8 months. In Jail he realises that he will only be able to successfully take over Germany 'legitimately', not through revolution. It is while he is in Jail that he writes 'Mein Kampf' meaning 'My struggle'
