jun 18, 2016 - Passenger in autonomous car dies
In June of 2016, a passenger had been using the autonomous driving feature in a Tesla when, unexpectedly, a truck made an unsafe turn. The car had not detected the truck and crashed directly into it, killing the passenger. This aroused another group of stakeholders: those who are concerned about the safety risks that come with autonomous driving. There are some statistics that human error causes a majority of the car accidents that occur currently, but these stakeholders point out that autonomous cars will still have technological errors that could b potentially dangerous. The viewpoint is that it is safer to be driving yourself around than it is to trust a machine that may have an error in its coding.
