feb 15, 2005 - Kyoto Protocol
While initially signed in 1997, the Kyoto Protocol did not go into effect until 2005. 193 countries signed the treaty with the objective of fighting global warming by reducing greenhouse gas concentrations and this marked one of the first steps countries took to do so. These countries hold the view that reducing greenhouse gas emission is important but must be balanced out with the handling of their economy. Stakeholders with this view include countries and their governments.
