jul 14, 1789 - The Storming of the Bastille
Description:
The Storming of the Bastille was when the third estate stormed the Bastille, an old fortress that also formed as a prison and torture center. The third estate needed gunpowder and cannons to fight back against the king and his troops in the war that was soon to come. They attacked the Bastille, and won in a small skirmish against the troops that inhabited the Bastille. They took the gunpowder and cannons that were in the fortress and also freed 7 prisoners that were held there.
I think the Storming of the Bastille was a very big event that took place during the French Revolution. It was the first time that violence took place, and the third estate never gave up. This threatened the king and worried him. The Third Estate prevailed and most likely would again and again. They were united and focused on one goal, fix their country.
