5 mar 1946 año - The "Iron Curtain Speech"

Descripción:

In 1946, Winston Churchill Visited Westminster college as a lecturer to deliver "Sinew of Peace" (more commonly remembered as the "iron curtain speech"), a speech that was heard all around the world and announced the beginning of the cold war. It speaks of the imaginary line between communism and capitalism as well as the measures that must be taken to stop the spread of communism. He claims that the Soviet influence is growing to great and that it must be stopped.
"From Stettin in the Baltic to Trieste in the Adriatic, an iron curtain has descended across the Continent. Behind that line lie all the capitals of the ancient states of Central and Eastern Europe. Warsaw, Berlin, Prague, Vienna, Budapest, Belgrade, Bucharest and Sofia, all these famous cities and the populations around them lie in what I must call the Soviet sphere, and all are subject in one form or another, not only to Soviet influence but to a very high and, in many cases, increasing measure of control from Moscow."
