In 1939, bell telephone laboratories completes the calculator which was designed by scientist George Stibitz. In 1940, Stibitz demonstrated the cnc at an American mathematical society conference, which took place at Dartmouth college. It shocked the group as he performed calculations on the cnc using a teletype terminal which is a electromechanical typewriter connected via new York over special telephone lines. This is one of the first examples of remote access computing.
