19 mar 2011 año - Operation Odyssey Dawn

Descripción:

MAR 19-MAR 31: Operation Odyssey Dawn was a joint effort to degrade Libya’s air power capabilities. After an uprising began against Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi, he began to carry attacks against the rebels and also his own civilian population. The U.N. responded by authorizing a no-fly zone over Libya. Later, the U.S. joined in, supplying B-2 bombers which disabled Libya’s surface-to-air missile and early warning radar capabilities. All in all, the U.S. flew 212 sorties in support of the mission. Eventually, Gaddafi’s convoy was hit by a French airstrike and he was subsequently captured and killed by rebel forces.
