On April 19, 1775, the American Revolution started with a bang, the Battles of Lexington and Concord. British Troops went to Massachusetts to seize military equipment on April 18, 1775. Riders sounded the alarm and Redcoats were being attacked by militiamen. The British went to Lexington to meet up with backup and ended faced with 2,000 colonial men ready to fight. Although both parties faced casualties, America showed that they could stand up to the most powerful army in the world. The next summer would prove just how much courage America had as the war of independence started.
