An 8 week summer workshop attended by 11 mathematicians and computer scientists. It was organised by John McCarthy with the goal of clarifying ideas around neural networks and finding ways that computers could mathematically represent a problem that humans would usually solve. It is considered one of the most influential workshops on neural networks ever run.
