On September 23, 1633 Galileo was put on trial for writing a a book for holding the belief that heliocentric model is real, and that the sun was the center of the universe. This is the model that Earth revolves around the sun, this was deemed heretical by the Catholic Church. The church believes that sun moved around the Earth and that the Earth was the center of the universe. For believing this, Galileo was convicted of heresy and sentenced to indefinite imprisonment.
