Mound
Descripción:
effigy mound
head aligns with the summer solstice sunset and the tail points to the winter solstice sunrise. Possibly built by the Fort Ancient Culture who survived 1000-1650 c.e. Or refurbished the piece made by the Adena Culture
Function: perhaps used to show when to plant or to harvest. Possibly used as a compass or even a conglomeration of all celestial knowledge of these people. Maybe to provide worship to a snake god or goddess
