Initially ruled alongside his brother, Zbigniew, but the two have eventually come into conflict. Krzywousty came out of it victoriously, consolidating the unity and safety of the country.

- Bolesław was trying to conquer Pomerania (Pomorze), employing christianising strategies

1109 - Henry V of Germany runs an unsuccessful campaign to help Zbigniew, in the hope of dividing Poland and securing Germany's domination over its territories.

1135 - BK pays homage to the German emperor
