During the Civil war in Russia, Russia began to to collapse economically and politically under Tsar Nicholas II. This led to the rise of power to the Bolsheviks and Lenin. Lenin and the Bolsheviks sparked the rise of Marxian socialism and this was very successful because it led people under the rule of the Tsar to turn their focus onto the Bolsheviks because of growing problems under the Tsar's rule. With support they transformed the government discarding past Russian ideas such as monarchical government and brought dictatorship.
